Applied Informatics covers the theory and application of informatics in various scientific, technological, engineering and social fields. The progress of informatics has been incredible, obliging us to adapt to various new needs, in order to provide solutions to such a wide expansion of areas for which utilisation of information and communication technologies is demanded. However, the use of informatics to the general public has not been fully established, and is broadly interdisciplinary. The symposium on Advances in Applied Informatics (SAI’19) aims to provide a venue for presenting high quality original research papers on various aspects of applied informatics. The symposium focuses on business informatics, education informatics, ecological informatics, agricultural informatics, health informatics and security informatics. SAI'19 is co-affiliated with the Third International Conference on Computing and Network Communications (CoCoNet'19), December 18-21, 2019, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.

Kerala renowned as the “Gods own Country”, situated in the southwestern tip of India, bestowed with unique geographical features that have made it one of the most attractive tourist destinations in India. Besides its famous languid network of back-waters, sprawling beaches, paddy fields, coconut groves, tea plantations and elegant house-boats, Kerala is well-known for its delicately spiced, taste-buds tingling cuisines. The state blessed with a serene climate and lush greenery is home to wild elephants, exotic birds and odd tigers. The land is also famous for its cultural heritage, traditional festivals and snake-boat races. Moreover, Kerala is one of the best Ayurveda tourism destinations in India.
