There have been several inquiries regarding the payment of GST/HST credit payments in February. The first payment of GST/HST credit has been distributed in March. There is no need to apply for GST/HST as long as you file your tax return, as you will automatically be eligible for the GST/HST credit. If there are any changes in your life conditions, such as you have kids or there is a rise or decrease in your income, make sure to inform CRA about it so they can determine your new payment amount if necessary.
The first payment was disbursed in the month of March 2025. People who have received this payment will receive their next payment in April. GST/HST is a tax-free payment that is provided quarterly to eligible individuals. It is mandatory to file your tax return to get this payment. Eligibility Criteria

- Age Criteria: The applicant must be at least 19 years old. If the applicant is under 19 years old, they must meet at least one of the following conditions during the same period to become eligible:
- They must have had a spouse or common-law partner
- They are or were a parent and live or lived with their child
- Citizenship and Residence: You either must be a citizen of Canada or you must meet the residency requirements set by the government. Residency requirements are that you must be residing in Canada in December (the month before the CRA makes a payment) and at the beginning of March (at the beginning of the month the CRA makes a payment).

- The applicant is dead.
- You spend at least ninety days in a row confined to a prison or similar facility.

- If the recipient is deceased
- If the deceased recipient was married or living common-law
- If the deceased recipient was single, divorced, separated, or widowed
