Women represent approximately 51% of the total population. Over the course of history, the demographics of the workforce have changed significantly. Women continue to advance, holding important roles and positions in both academia and industry. Although progress has been made, the precipitous journey is not yet complete. Global concerns about current and future roles of women in computing occupations gained more importance with the emerging information age. The Seventh International Symposium on Women in Computing and Informatics (WCI'19) is co-affiliated with the Third International Conference on Computing and Network Communications (CoCoNet'19), December 18-21, 2019, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The Symposium aims to provide a forum for women researchers to present their work in the emerging areas of computing, communication, and informatics. WCI'19 is technically supported by ACM Trivandrum Professional Chapter and IEEE Toronto Women in Engineering.

All accepted papers will be published by Elsevier as a special issue in the open-access Procedia Computer Science journal (ISSN: 1877-0509). Procedia Computer Science (H-Index: 47) is hosted on Elsevier Content platform ScienceDirect and will be freely available worldwide. The Procedia CS is indexed by Scopus and Conference Proceeding Citation Index.

The symposium will be held at Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K), Trivandrum, India during December 18-21, 2019. Kerala renowned as the “Gods own Country”, situated in the southwestern tip of India, bestowed with unique geographical features that have made it one of the most attractive tourist destinations in India.
