Call for Papers - Journal Special Issue

Special Issue on Emerging Circuits for Computing : International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications

The Second International Conference on Computing and Network Communications (CoCoNet'18) will be held on August 15-17, 2018, Astana, Kazakhstan. It is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Communications Society. During the conference, we wish to organise a 2-day workshop on Emerging Circuits for Computing and Communication (COCO-Circuits).  The principle theme would be on emerging circuits for computation.  It will provide a forum and opportunity for discussions of recent advances in non-standard computational circuits as well as analogue computation.

The workshop will invite submissions into broad areas of computational circuits, which includes but not limited to:
-- Analogue Computation
-- Memristors: Novel circuits utilising Memristors, Multi-level computations
-- Computing in communication systems including Radio Frequency and Optical Communication
-- Computing in Sensors and Imagers: computational image sensors; Computational MEMS devices;
-- Signal processing and Analog front end design;
-- Organic Electronics and non-silicon circuits
-- Digital Design: High-performance and energy efficient digital computation system design; Digital arithmetic circuits
-- Hardware security
-- System on chip and Network on chip
-- Beyond CMOS: Nanoelectronics and hybrid systems
-- Nonlinear computational circuits and systems
-- Applications: Biomedical circuits and systems; Multimedia systems and applications

We propose to invite authors of selected papers for a special issue of the International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications on “Emerging Circuits for Computing and Communication”. All papers will go through the standard review process of IJCTA. There will be a suitable “call for papers” for this special issue during the conference. In addition to the conference attendees, the call for papers will also enable external authors to submit papers for this special issue.

Here are proposed dates for this special issue:
15-August-2018: Conference date and call for papers distributed
15-January-2019: Deadline for papers
15-March-2019: 1st Review decisions
15-April-2019: Resubmission based on Review
15-June-2019: Final decision
August 2019 – Publication.

Proposed editors for the special issue:
  • Bhaskar Choubey, University of Oxford and University of Siegen (Currently associate editor, IEEE Sensors Journal)
  • Alex James, Nazarbayev University (Currently Associate Editor, IEEE Trans of Circuits and Systems I)
Workshop organising committee
  • Leon Chua, University of California, Berkeley, USA

Welcome to Astana

The Second International Conference on Computing and Network Communications (CoCoNet'18) will be held on August 15-17, 2018, Astana, Kazakhstan. Astana, the capital and the second largest city in Kazakhstan has modern futuristic architecture and some of the world's largest building projects, as well as museums, amusement parks, and a beautiful nearby lake area. The conference is hosted by Nazarbayev University, a modern and rapidly developing university located in the heart of Eurasia – Astana.  The conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE and IEEE Communications Society.

The objective of CoCoNet'18 is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in Computing and Network Communications. The material is presented in a program of technical sessions, panel discussions, symposiums, tutorials, posters, demos, exhibits, workshops, doctoral consortium, lightning talks and plenary/keynote talks. Submitted papers will be reviewed by the technical committee of the Conference. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
In addition, selected papers will be invited to submit in journal special issues such as:
